Re-upholstery isn't necessarily a cheaper alternative to buying off-the-shelf, mass-produced furniture; instead, it's a bespoke, investment choice!
When you choose re-upholstery, you’re investing in hand craftsmanship, custom design & preserving a high-quality frame that was built to last. Rather than buying a throwaway piece, you get to completely tailor your furniture to your home, choosing your exact fabric, foam firmness & personal finish—to turn a well-loved item into a unique statement piece you'll cherish for years to come.
-
In most cases, yes! Older or vintage pieces often have solid hardwood frames and superior craftsmanship that you just can't find in modern mass-produced furniture. Re-upholstery is a sustainable option & keeps quality furniture out of landfill & lets you create a unique statement piece.
If you're ever unsure about the condition of your frame, send me a photo - I’m always happy to offer an honest opinion!
-
Getting a quote is quick and easy! Simply send a few clear photos of your chair or project (showing the front, sides, include approx measurements & any specific areas needing extra care &attention) along with a brief description of what you’d like done.
You can email, send a message via WhatsApp, or complete my website form. Once I review your photos, I’ll get back to you with an estimated cost and fabric requirements.
-
Finding the right fabric is one of the most exciting parts of the project! The best choice really depends on how your furniture is used in your home.
For high-traffic pieces-like everyday dining chairs or the favourite family armchair-durable, stain-resistant fabrics work wonders. If it's a statement piece that gets a bit less use, you can go with something a little more delicate like a soft velvet or linen.
Don't worry about the technical side either! In accordance with UK furniture safety regulations, domestic upholstery fabrics need to comply with fire retardancy standards - I’ll happily guide you through all of that when choosing your fabric so your piece is as safe as it is beautiful.
-
Lead times vary throughout the year depending on current workload & seasonality.
I can provide an estimated timeline for each project upon inquiry.
* If you would like your dining chairs revamped in time for the festive season, I suggest booking around August. Likewise, if you want your summer patio furniture refreshed & ready for the warmer days, the winter months are the ideal time to get booked into my workshop schedule.
